Styling FAQs

  • Personal styling is the process of building a wardrobe and visual identity that works intentionally for your life. My approach goes beyond aesthetics, rooted in style psychology, it connects how you dress to how you communicate, lead, and are perceived. The result is a presence that's both authentic and strategic. With your lifestyle, body, and budget at the center of the personalized approach.

  • Most of my clients are professionals, executives, and entrepreneurs, frequently navigating a significant transition in their lifestyle: a new role, body changes, a visibility shift, or a moment where they've recognized that how they show up is no longer aligned with where they're going.

  • Please don't wait. This is one of the most common reasons people put off investing in themselves – and one of the most important ones to push back on. You deserve to feel confident and well-dressed right now, in the body you're in today. Waiting until a future version of yourself arrives means missing out on the impact, confidence, and perception shifts available to you immediately. We build your wardrobe for your current size, your current life, and your current goals – with the flexibility to evolve as you do.

  • This is one of the most common concerns new clients bring, and it's a fair one. The process is designed to close that gap before we ever touch your wardrobe. Through a thorough intake process and deep-dive consultation, I learn how you live, how you work, how you want to feel, and how you want to be perceived. Shopping for a client is never a guess – it's the outcome of a deliberate discovery process. Most clients are surprised by how seen they feel, even early on, in the styling and shopping process.

  • We begin with a deep-dive consultation to assess your current wardrobe, lifestyle, and goals. From there, I develop a strategic style direction, conduct a wardrobe edit, and guide intentional shopping – all tailored to your specific context and objectives.

  • My structured packages are designed to deliver the most comprehensive and lasting results. I understand that not everyone is ready for – or needs – the full process at once. Reach out, and we'll have an honest conversation about where you are, what you actually need, and whether a more focused engagement makes sense for you.

  • Step 1 typically spans one to two weeks from intake to completion, depending on scheduling and the scope of your wardrobe. Step 2 builds on that foundation and generally takes two to four weeks, factoring in the online shopping process, lead times, and any refinements. Timelines are discussed ongoing basis with clients to set the tone and pace together.

  • Yes. The majority of my client work is conducted virtually through my “Closet in the Cloud,” making the process accessible regardless of location and highly efficient as we continue working together.

  • We meet via video call, where you'll walk me through your space, try on pieces in real time, and we'll make decisions together. It's a surprisingly intimate and efficient process – clients find it just as effective as working in person, with the added comfort of being in their own environment.

  • Yes – have bag, will travel! I work with many clients across the US, including in New York City and the tri-state area, Denver and Boulder, San Francisco, Omaha, Texas and beyond. Should you wish to have me meet with you physically in your space, we can discuss the travel fees associated with the experience. Clients within the immediate metro area of St. Louis, and a specific radius, are charged either on the mile, depending on how far from 63108, and beyond that are offered an upfront travel fee based on driving distances/time. This is all personalized to each client's location.

  • It happens more than you might think – and it's actually a good sign. It means we've cleared what wasn't serving you, which creates both the clarity and the motivation to build something better. Removing physical noise helps clear up mental real estate in this category of your life. Additional support is discussed throughout to make sure we are aligned with the styling and any shopping support in the future.

  • No – and this is very important. My approach is entirely client-driven, not budget-driven. I shop across a wide range of price points, from accessible everyday retailers to investment pieces worth the splurge, depending on what makes sense for your life and goals. The objective is always value and fit, not labels. Many working wardrobes are a mix of high-low items.

  • That depends on what you're comparing it to. If you've spent years buying things that don't work, avoiding opportunities because you didn't feel confident, or walking into important rooms feeling underprepared – the cost of not investing is already significant. My clients consistently describe this as one of the highest-return investments they've made, not just in how they look, but in how they lead, communicate, and show up. This isn't about clothes. It's about presence. It’s also about efficiency.

  • Personal styling is offered as a premium, bespoke service. Pricing is discussed during an initial consultation, where we determine the right scope for your needs. For new clients, refer to the Personal Styling Services page to outline the step-by-step process and packages.

  • Most clients choose to continue with seasonal wardrobe refreshes, ongoing shopping support, special-event styling, travel and packing styling, or as-needed styling sessions – all at an hourly fee discussed before ongoing work. Many also expand into broader work together – exploring communication style, leadership presence, or enterprise consulting for their organizations. The initial package is a beginning, not a ceiling.
